About this object
Commemorative badge; a purple and gold badge, commemorating the Diamond Jubilee of Owaka District High School, held in 1935. The printed badge reads: 'OWAKA DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL / 1875 1935 / DIAMOND JUBILEE' around an photograph of the school buildings and an image of a fruit-laden tree. Attached is a black ribbon, printed in gold with: 'EX-PUPIL'.
With the badge is a laminated photocopy reading: '1875 DIAMOND JUBILEE 1935 / SUPPER'.
Owaka District High School is still active, but is now known as the Catlins Area School.
The Owaka Museum collection also houses many photographs and ephemera relating to this event.
