About this object
Permanent hair waving kit; a Fabre Permanent Waving Set manufactured by Mosieur Antoine Faber, 27 Finsbury St, London. The set contains two drying tubes, four curlers a bottle of 'Fabrol' lotion and a number of paper and cloth pieces used in the waving process. The set is presented in a maroon leather box. Inside the lid is adhered a set of abridged instructions with a central illustration of a woman using the set.
Enclosed with the set is a typewritten letter which reads: 'Dear Madam, I beg to acknowledge with thanks the receipt of your esteemed order and am sending the set herewith. I hope to hear very soon that you have obtained beautifully waved hair, and that I may ad your testimony to the hundreds of letters of appreciation which I have already received. Yours Faithfully, Antoine Fabre' The letter is dated 30 November 1925 and has been typed on pale pink paper with an elaborate letterhead of 'Mons Antoine Fabre, Court Hairdresser and Medallist'.
