About this object

Embroidered picture; a piece of embroidery worked on deep, purple silk[?]. The unfinished work appears to be in commemoration of the victory of the allies in World War One and depicts an appliqué life buoy surrounding a square aperture where a photograph would be placed.
Surrounding the buoy are six embroidered flags representing the allied nations of France, Russia, the United Stated of America, Italy, Belgium and Great Britain. Above the flags is an embroidered representation of the British Crown.
