About this object

Anaesthesia mask; for the administration of ether to patients. This consists of a metal frame and thumb piece and protruding cross shaped metal bars. The metal bars would have been covered with gauze into which was dripped ether or chloroform to anaesthetise the patient. Made by Allen and Hanbury's Ltd of London.
