Pump, breast

About this object

Breast pump; a breast reliever in its original box. The reliever consists of a ball pump, and suction funnel with receiving chamber. Presumably a lactating mother presses the funnel against her breast, gently pumps the ball to produce pressure, and breast milk will channel into the receiving chamber.

This example was manufactured by S Maw, Son and Sons, surgical instrument makers, 7 to 12 Aldersgate Street, London.
