Subject and Association Description

Ann Firth (nee Williams) described by her granddaughter "as sweet as the lingering perfume of rose-leaves…only her own period could have produced her" (in her book "Portrait in Mosaic of Ann Clifton Firth"). She had 12 children and as was common for women of her time, her life was totally focused on the household and the career of her husband Josiah.
