About this object
Red covered button sales sample book with registered trade mark depicted at the top. Underneath reads "Tailors' Ivory Buttons Season 1912".
Inside are pages mounted with numerous buttons of various shapes, sizes and colouring, revealing samples of buttons used by tailors' in the early 20th century. The page headers are in gold and black lettering with the buttons set out in grid format beneath, showing the finish, dimensions and colour names and individual codes for each button. Some are noted as having extra strong shanks, while others are stated as having extra fine quality, hand polished bevelled holes back and front.
