About this object

Ernie Moon was born in 1868. An extract from the Raglan County Chronicle, July 28th, 1938, reads : "Born a cripple unable to walk and without the use of his hands, he so mastered his infirmity that he was appointed postmaster at Te Uku. He learned to write with his feet, and for many years fulfilled all the duties of this position with the greatest care. In his spare time he mastered cabinetmaking.
