About this object

Table runner or banner, black buffed cotton ground with embroidered scenes, hemmed and fringed with blue cord. Reads, ' Souvenir of Egypt 1943'. In centre is a laurel wreath with a crown and 'NZ Onward' inside. On left is a Nile scene with palm tree, boat, and two pyramids; on right is a desert scene with a man and a camel with palm tree. On the back there is stamped writing in Arabic and also 'BEIDAEXIRA'.
