Riding Breeches

About this object

Female riding breeches, jodhpur style, beige colour. Barathea knitted fabric (type of wool processed). Waistband with 5 belt hoops cut on bias with white cotton lining. Side placket at left hip with 5 hidden buttons to fasten, 3 at placket and 2 on waistband. Two pockets at front left and right with white cotton lining. Two darts at back for fitting. Material is cut on bias for legs, jodhpur shape tapered to knee where it is joined to new piece sewn close to calf all the way to ankle. Gusset at crotch, double fabric at inside knee for reinforcement, ankle hem turned up with a open outward facing side placket, fastened with a piece of black elastic. Machine made probably to order as no labels. Two cotton hang ties on inside waistband.
