About this object

White muslin gown darned in several places. Has broderie anglaise yoke front, with long sleeves and long gored skirt. Machine sewn except for hand stitching around neck edge. Gathered with drawstring ribbons around wrists of sleeves, and around neck. One pearl button at back joke seam. Made by donors grandmother Mary Ann Cannon, in England approximately 1904. She immigrated to NZ in 1920. Gown was worn by donor and her brother and also donors mother. Four dresses in total.
