Subject and Association Description

Said to have been brought back from England by one of the Quaife family members returning from WW1. It is recorded that some of the bricks have been found at the site of the first Auckland gaol on the corner of Queen and Victoria Streets. The machine was restored by the volunteer Engine Enthusiasts at The Kauri Museum.
