Family portrait photograph of the Morris family of Ararua when sons John and Henry were on final leave before going to war in 1916. Back Row L-R: George, John, Hester, Eben, Rachel, Henry. Middle: Agnes (Dot), Amelia with baby Ava, James, Barbara, Joseph and Elizabeth (Bess). Front standing, Jessie Florance (Florrie), Bob. Brothers 24/1756 Rfm. John Morris and 24/1757 Rfm. Henry Morris both served with the 9th Reinforcements, New Zealand Rifle Brigade, 2nd Battalion, F Company. Henry Morris was killed in action, on the 4th October 1917 at Ypres, Belgium.
