About this object

WW2 uniform jacket that belonged to Pte. Norman Earnest Broad 6403148 of the Royal Sussex Regiment. Khaki wool jacket with two breast pockets, long sleeves with cuffs, plain collar, fastened down centre front with a row of 5 buttons and a joined belt to waistband. Epaulettes at shoulders. Felt badges on arms, 'Royal Sussex' in red with white writing on shoulder, with a red stripe below. At right cuff is 5 red chevrons and left cuff are two large white chevrons with an oval badge above containing 'SP' with laurel wreaths. Above left pocket is a fabric bar of white black white red and white blue white, in the red filed is a metal 8 badge.
