About this object

Sunshade of a dark purple-brown silk moire with black fringe around edge early 19th Century. The parasol has a hinged or folding handle with a carved and hooked end. The frame has eight wooden spokes. The knob at top of wooden cane handel is ivory with a hole through. Lined on the inside by cream silk.
