Tabula Rasa - Fragile; Stuart DUFFIN; 2007; 1102
Tabula Rasa - Fragile
About this objectA collage-like composition in chiaroscuro tones. It is one from a series of nine where each pair of hands were 'signing' a letter from the word 'JERUSALEM'. This is the fourth print with the hands making the sign for 'U'. The hands are in front of a band of street graffitti (bomb). Above the hands is the text 'Stone / FRAGILE' also in grafitti style. An appropriation of the well known stop-motion photograph of a bullet passing through a lightbulb is flanked at either side by two 'ancient' stone tablets, along the top edge.
