About this object
This fan a three-quarter circle in shape, made out of tightly plaited, very fine strips of natural coloured palm frond. There is a semicircular band around the centre in red and black dyed palm frond, worked with a pattern of diamonds and triangles. The outer edge of the fan has what is likely to be white chicken feathers attached to it. The handle is covered with black dyed and natural palm frond plaiting.
