About this object
A pastel pink woollen cardigan. It has been embellished with hand stitched sequins, which border the neckline, sleeve and bottom edges of the cardigan. The sequins are also scattered over the entire cardigan with hand stitched beaded flower clusters to front, left and right shoulders, and back of neck.
There is single flower to lower back and front of cardigan.
Lining consists of a cream fabric. Label at neck reads 42''. In very good condition.
This was worn by Miss Mamie Reid who was a concert pianist based in Sydney. She was part of a concert party that entertained Australian troops in New Guinea during WW2. Mamie was a cousin of George Forrest Reid who lived at Tomarata/Te Arai.
